Metallica are working on a 3D movie. “We didn’t want to do it at first,” (Kirk) Hammett admits. “We were sold on it by our managers, that it would be a lot of fun and we would have a big-ass stage to play on—the biggest Metallica live show we’ve ever done, next-level stuff.”
According to (Lar$) Ulrich, though, the film will be a lot more than just concert footage. “Imagine if you took [1976 Led Zeppelin film] The Song Remains The Same, which is 75 percent concert, 25 percent other stuff, and flipped it around,” says Ulrich. “And all the non-concert footage, instead of being about the band members, is a story that unfolds, set against the backdrop of the concert.”
Oh yeah... they're working on a new album too. Says Kirk Hammett, "the next album will be a heavier ‘Black Album.’”
